Welcome to ‘La Revue Indigène’ a blog dedicated to discussions on Haiti’s political history (1804-1986). “Political history” here is understood in larger terms and encompasses questions relating to society, governance, facets of legal history, intellectual history and foreign relations forged between Haiti and its neighbours in the Americas. This blog is curated by a graduate student in Canada interested in sharing bits and pieces of her interest in Haitian history.

La Revue Indigène is named after the 1920s Haitian journal of the same name co-founded by Haitian Marxist/Communist Jacques Roumain.
